Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) forces launched a counter-offensive in Borno, following a failed insurgent assault on the Auno base.
Working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, troops disrupted critical supply lines and significantly weakened ISWAP’s local operational capacity.
The engagement resulted in 16 terrorists neutralized along the Komala-Gidan Kaji axis. Soldiers recovered weapons, bicycles, and intercepted logistics suppliers in Bukarti who were attempting to transport large quantities of drugs meant for the insurgents.
In a rescue effort, troops foiled a kidnapping on the Buratai-Kamuya road, forcing the assailants to flee. Two victims were recovered and reunited with their families, while another nine individuals were rescued following a distress call on the Chibok-Damboa axis.
These synchronized missions emphasize OPHK’s dual focus on combat and humanitarian protection. By preventing abductions and seizing supplies, the military continues to prioritize the safety of vulnerable communities throughout the North East.
Highlighting the operation’s success, Lt. Col. Sani Uba stated, “This decisive action has significantly degraded terrorist capabilities, disrupted their logistics, and reaffirmed OPHK’s unwavering commitment to dismantling terrorist networks across the North East region.”
