Amotekun operative testified in court regarding the 2022 St. Francis Catholic Church massacre, which killed over 40 people.

During the hearing, he positively identified one of the suspects as a participant in the deadly terror attack.

The witness explained that the Ondo State Security Network tracked the assailants through intensive intelligence and forensic investigations.

This effort eventually led to the capture of the individuals now facing trial for the mass murder.

The operative detailed the horrific scene of explosives and gunfire, providing specific evidence linking the suspect to the coordination of the assault.

He stood firm during cross-examination, maintaining that the identification was accurate and evidence-based.

During the proceedings, the witness affirmed the suspect’s involvement, stating, “The suspect was identified through our intelligence network and eyewitness accounts as one of those who brought sorrow to the people of Owo on that fateful Sunday.”

The trial continues to attract immense public attention as the Owo community demands justice for the victims. The court has adjourned for further hearings, with more witnesses scheduled to testify against the defendants.

The outcome of this case remains a high priority for the state’s legal and security departments. Officials believe the successful prosecution of these suspects will serve as a significant deterrent to future acts of terrorism in the region.
