Nigerian troops last week neutralized 30 terrorists and arrested 105 suspects in nationwide operations.
Major General Edward Buba confirmed the successful destruction of several insurgent hideouts across the North-East and North-West. These strikes are part of an ongoing mission to stabilize volatile regions.
The military successfully returned 700 Nigerian refugees from the Republic of Chad to Borno State. This repatriation is a key step in the government’s plan to resettle citizens displaced by years of conflict.
The operation was conducted under strict security to ensure the safety of the returnees.
Highlighting the week’s impact, Major General Buba stated, “During the week under review, troops neutralized 30 terrorists and arrested 105 persons. Troops also successfully repatriated 700 Nigerian refugees from the Republic of Chad to their home state of Borno.”
A large cache of weapons was recovered, and several logistics supply lines for terrorist camps were intercepted. In the South-South, troops also destroyed illegal refineries to combat economic sabotage and oil theft. These actions significantly hampered the operational capacity of various criminal groups.
Strategic airstrikes targeted terrorist enclaves, killing high-ranking commanders and disrupting their leadership hierarchy. The DHQ reported that these precision attacks have left insurgent groups in disarray.
The military remains committed to sustaining this offensive until total peace is restored.
Security was provided for farmers and commuters in high-risk zones to revive local economic activities. This increased military presence has encouraged many displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes.
Ongoing efforts focus on preventing terrorists from regrouping in liberated areas.
