VP Leads Federal Delegation to Kaiama Following Deadly Terrorist Attack
Vice President Kashim Shettima led a federal delegation to Kaiama, Kwara State, to commiserate with the Nuku and Woro communities following a deadly terrorist attack.
Accompanied by Governor Babagana Zulum, the visit underscored the government’s concern over the recent violence.
During the visit, Shettima emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace and securing the region. He praised the victims as peaceful citizens and assured residents that the government is working tirelessly to end such senseless attacks.
To bolster local security, Shettima announced the deployment of an Army battalion to Kaiama. Additionally, the President directed NEMA to provide immediate relief materials and support to the affected families and displaced persons.
While keeping specific tactical details confidential, the Vice President confirmed that decisive security operations are ongoing. He noted that federal strategies are being intensified across the North Central region to protect vulnerable communities.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq thanked the Presidency for the swift intervention and the launch of “Operation Savannah Shield.” Local leaders also expressed gratitude for the rapid deployment of troops to restore order.
Reiterating the administration’s resolve, Shettima offered a message of hope to the grieving community. He stated, “We are here at the behest of President Bola Tinubu to commiserate with you over the tragedy that befell Woro and Nuku communities. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
All hands are on deck to ensure peace and tranquillity are fully restored.”
