Kano State Assembly Denies Impeachment Plot Against Deputy Governor

The Kano State House of Assembly has formally debunked viral reports claiming there were plans to impeach the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.

The legislative body described the allegations as baseless and urged the public to disregard the misinformation.

During a recent session, the House leadership clarified that no such motion has been filed or even discussed. They emphasized that their current priority is legislative work aimed at state progress, rather than orchestrating political removals.

Lawmakers attributed the rumors to “mischief-makers” who are allegedly intent on creating a crisis between the executive and legislative branches.

They maintained that the working relationship between the Assembly and the Deputy Governor remains strong and harmonious.

The Assembly further noted that impeachment is a transparent and serious constitutional process that cannot happen behind closed doors. They warned that spreading such false narratives only serves to distract from the administration’s goals.

The House reaffirmed its support for the Deputy Governor, recognizing his role in the state’s governance.

They called on citizens to remain calm and not be swayed by unverified reports circulating on social media.

Formally addressing the speculation, the Assembly stated, “The news circulating about the impeachment of the Deputy Governor is a lie and the handiwork of mischief-makers who want to cause confusion in the state.”
