Bundesliga Matchday 21: Bayern Munich Hit Hoffenheim for Five as Dortmund, Leipzig Claim Away Wins

Bundesliga Matchday 21 delivered drama, goals, red cards, and major talking points across Germany, with Bayern Munich producing a ruthless display to tighten their grip at the top of the table.

Bayern Munich were in devastating form as they thrashed 10-man Hoffenheim 5–1 in a pulsating encounter.

Hoffenheim were reduced to 10 men early after Akpoguma was sent off for a foul on Luis Díaz inside the box, allowing Harry Kane to convert from the penalty spot.

Despite the setback, Hoffenheim briefly threatened a comeback when a mistake from Manuel Neuer gifted Kramarić an equaliser through Asllani. Bayern, however, regained control before halftime as Kane netted his second penalty after another foul on Díaz. The second half belonged entirely to the Colombian winger, who scored a sensational hat-trick to cap a dominant performance.

Vincent Kompany’s side posted an eye-catching 5.60 expected goals and moved six points clear at the summit.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund secured a hard-fought 2–1 away victory over Wolfsburg. Julian Brandt opened the scoring in the 38th minute before Wolfsburg levelled through Koulierakis early in the second half.

Serhou Guirassy struck late in the 87th minute to seal all three points for Dortmund sealing their 12 games unbeaten run in the leauge.

RB Leipzig continued their strong run with a 2–1 win against Köln. Christoph Baumgartner was the star of the show, scoring both goals for Leipzig either side of halftime. Jan Thielmann’s 51st-minute effort briefly brought Köln back into the contest, but Leipzig held firm to secure victory.

At the Voith-Arena, Hamburger SV earned a comfortable 2–0 away win over FC Heidenheim, with Königsdörffer scoring just before halftime and Philippe sealing the result late in the second half.

Freiburg edged Werder Bremen 1–0 in a tightly contested match. Beste’s early 13th-minute strike proved decisive, while Bremen’s hopes faded further after Manzambi was sent off in the second half.

Mainz claimed a 2–0 home win against Augsburg , with Nadiem Amiri converting two penalties one in the eighth minute and another late in the game to secure maximum points.

At the Millerntor-Stadion, St. Pauli recorded a 2–1 victory over VfB Stuttgart. Goals from Saliakas and a Sinani penalty gave the hosts a commanding lead before Leweling pulled one back deep into stoppage time, though it proved too late to change the outcome.

Finally, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen settled for a 1–1 draw.

Engelhardt gave Gladbach an early lead, but a Sander own goal just before halftime restored parity for the visitors.

With Matchday 21 concluded, the Bundesliga title race continues to heat up as Bayern Munich strengthen their lead, while the battle for European places remains fiercely contested.
