APC Replaces Uzodimma with Masari as Convention Coordination Committee Chair
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as Chairman of the party’s National Convention Central Coordination Committee ahead of its national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2026.
The party’s National Secretary, Surajudeen Basiru, announced the development in a statement, stating that Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who was initia uselly named to head the committee, has been reassigned as treasurer.
Basiru explained that the decision followed additional consultations with the party’s leadership and key stakeholders across the country, leading to a reconstitution of the committee.
As part of the restructuring, the APC also increased the committee’s membership from 73 to 90 members, a move the party said was intended to broaden participation and accommodate more interests within the ruling party.
According to the statement, sub-committees under the Central Coordination Committee will be constituted and announced at a later date.
The committee is responsible for overseeing preparations for the APC’s national convention, which will include activities related to the party’s leadership structure and internal organisation.
