Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila Launches ₦2.5bn Nursing College Fund

 

 

Alhaja Lateefat Olufunke Gbajabiamila, mother of the President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, has launched a ₦2.5 billion fund for the College of Nursing at Summit University.

 

The 96-year-old was also honored with a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration.

 

The event, hosted by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, recognized her lifelong leadership and community impact. President Musedeeq Adeniji-Kazeem praised her intentional philanthropy and dedication to empowering others through education.

 

Femi Gbajabiamila expressed gratitude for the recognition of his mother’s long track record of service. To support the vision, the Chief of Staff announced a ₦200 million donation to the college.

 

University officials emphasized that the fund will provide quality nursing education and boost Nigeria’s healthcare sector. They urged well-meaning Nigerians to support the initiative to train future medical professionals.

In her acceptance speech, Alhaja Gbajabiamila shared her hopes for the project, stating, “The Lateefat Gbajabiamila College of Nursing at Summit University, Offa, is my prayer made visible and sanctuary where young women and men will be trained to heal, to lead, and to serve with compassion. I humbly invite all friends, families, and well-wishers to support this vision with generous donations, so that this legacy may stand long after I am gone”
