Ganduje Affirms Northern Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid
Former APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje has declared that northern voters will overwhelmingly support President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He dismissed claims of a regional shift, asserting that no viable alternative exists for the North.
During a visit from Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders, Ganduje described Tinubu as a “genuine politician” essential for the nation. He noted that Nigeria is fortunate to have a leader with such deep democratic roots.
Addressing claims that the administration favors the South, Ganduje labeled these concerns as misconceptions.
He argued that despite threats from critics, Tinubu remains the most stable choice for Nigeria’s future.
Regarding the 2027 election, Ganduje stated, “Pertaining to the next election in 2027, those that are nursing or thinking otherwise, that the North will vote for another candidate other than Asiwaju, are making a big mistake. This is the first time Nigeria as a nation is lucky to have a politician as President.
His constituency is politics, his upbringing is politics because he believes in the unity of this country. In fact, he struggled; he was even in exile for democracy to survive in Nigeria.”
He praised Tinubu’s courage in removing the fuel subsidy, a move previous leaders avoided. This reform, he noted, has increased development funding for all state governors regardless of party.
Ganduje reminded critics of the agreement to shift power to the South after Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure. He insisted that Tinubu’s socio-economic reforms justify a second term for the sake of national progress.
Finally, Ganduje lauded the youth delegation for their plan to fundraise for the President’s nomination forms. Group leader Murtala Gamji added that the North remains loyal because of Tinubu’s consistent support for the region.
