Senator Pam Dachungyang Defects from ADP to APC
Senator Pam Dachungyang, representing Plateau North Senatorial District, has officially defected from the Action Democratic Party (ADP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced the move during a plenary session on Thursday after reading the lawmaker’s formal letter of defection.
Dachungyang explained that his decision was reached after extensive consultations with his political associates and the constituents he represents.
He noted that the APC offers a more stable and progressive environment, allowing him to better serve the interests and development of his district.
The senator also cited “irreconcilable differences and persistent internal wrangling” within the ADP as a primary reason for leaving his former party.
He expressed confidence that the transition would enable him to focus more effectively on his legislative duties and the nation’s progress.
Regarding his motivation, the senator stated: “This decision was informed by the need to align with a political platform that best reflects my commitment to good governance, inclusive development, and the overall interest of the good people of the senatorial district that I represent.”
