Tinubu’s Administration Most “Christian-Friendly” Since Independence, Claims Akpabio
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has characterized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most Christian-friendly government in Nigeria’s history.
Speaking on Tuesday at a massive rally at the Jos Polo Ground in Plateau State, Akpabio asserted that the President has consistently demonstrated fairness to all religious groups since taking office.
The Senate President made these remarks during the formal reception of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio noted that Tinubu’s leadership style has successfully bridged religious divides by treating both Christians and Muslims with equal respect.
During his address, Akpabio was quoted directly, saying: “Let me place on record that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is the most Christian-friendly administration since the creation of Nigeria.
He has shown this through his actions and deeds. He treats both Christians and Muslims equally.”
In a statement released by his media aide, Jackson Udom, Akpabio emphasized that this commitment to religious inclusion is reflected in both key appointments and policy decisions.
He argued that no previous government since Nigeria’s independence has achieved such a high standard of balance and equity in governance.
Addressing the specific concerns of the host state, the Senate President assured the people of Plateau that the federal government is determined to bring an end to the lingering insecurity in the region.
He pledged that the National Assembly would support the President by approving the necessary funds to stabilize the area and improve the lives of the citizens.
Akpabio further disclosed a significant humanitarian goal, stating that the government plans to use these strategic funds to eventually shut down all Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the country.
He maintained that every Nigerian, regardless of their religious belief, deserves to live in safety and return to their ancestral homes.
The rally, which saw Plateau become the final state in the North-Central zone to join the APC, concluded with a call for national unity. Akpabio urged Nigerians to look beyond religious differences and support the current administration’s efforts to rebuild the economy and
secure the nation for all.
