Delta State University Conforms ₦87.4m NELFUND Loan Intervention

The Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has acknowledged the receipt of ₦87,439,525.00 from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as tuition support for 382 of its students.

The acknowledgment was contained in an official letter issued by the University’s Registrar, Mrs. Rufina U. Ufuoma, on December 17, 2025, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel O. Asagba. The letter confirmed that the funds had been successfully credited to the University’s account as payment of tuition fees for benefiting students.

A breakdown of the disbursement shows that ₦12,729,500.00 was allocated for 58 students, ₦3,649,000.00 for 14 students, and ₦71,061,025.00 for 310 students, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 382.

According to the University, the intervention reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing education in Nigeria. DELSU expressed deep appreciation to NELFUND for the gesture and reaffirmed its willingness to continue collaborating with the agency to ensure sustained educational support for students.

The acknowledgment letter was addressed to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND at its headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
