Juventus Maul Napoli 3–0, Deal Blow to Title Hopes

Juventus delivered a major setback to Napoli’s Serie A title defence on Sunday with a commanding 3–0 victory in Turin, a result that leaves the reigning champions nine points adrift of league leaders Inter Milan.

Goals from Jonathan David, Kenan Yildiz and Filip Kostic sealed the emphatic win as Juventus, showing renewed energy under Luciano Spalletti, climbed back into fifth place. The Turin side are now level on 42 points with fourth-placed Roma and could break into the Champions League spots depending on Roma’s later clash with AC Milan.

Napoli remain narrowly ahead of Juventus and Roma but are under increasing pressure, with Como also closing in after an impressive win over Torino at the weekend. Roma could overtake Napoli in the standings if they avoid defeat against Milan, who are themselves chasing Inter at the top.

Attention now shifts for Napoli to Wednesday’s decisive Champions League fixture against Chelsea, which will determine whether Antonio Conte’s side progress in the competition. Conte’s squad continues to struggle with injuries, though the return of Romelu Lukaku, who made his first appearance of the season as a substitute, provided a rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing night.

Elsewhere in Serie A, former Napoli forward Giacomo Raspadori marked his full debut for Atalanta with a goal in a dominant 4–0 victory over Parma. Gianluca Scamacca, Marten de Roon and Nikola Krstovic added to the scoreline as Atalanta bounced back from their midweek European defeat.

In Genoa, Bologna let slip a two-goal advantage to suffer a dramatic 3–2 loss. The turning point came when Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski was sent off after a failed clearance challenge, leaving his side a man down. Genoa capitalised with a remarkable comeback, capped by late goals that lifted them further away from the relegation zone.
