NNPC GCEO, Ojulari Says Trust, Teamwork Will Drive Company’s Future After Strong 2025 Performance

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has said that deeper trust, collaboration and teamwork will be critical to sustaining the company’s growth, following what he described as major operational milestones recorded in 2025

Ojulari made this known while reviewing the company’s performance over the past year, noting that NNPC’s achievements were the result of collective effort, disciplined execution and a shared sense of purpose across the organisation According to him, 2025 marked a turning point for NNPC Ltd, with the company posting its strongest operational outcomes in decades. He highlighted improvements in crude oil and gas production, progress on long-delayed strategic infrastructure projects, and significant advances in corporate governance and transparency Among the notable milestones were the completion and commissioning of critical gas infrastructure, including progress on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline and the ANOH-OB3 project, both of which are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s domestic gas supply and support industrial growth. NNPC also recorded its highest production levels since the late 1980s, driven by new project start-ups and improved asset reliability. Ojulari further pointed to NNPC’s expanding footprint beyond Nigeria’s borders, with the rollout of Oleum lubricant products in West Africa, as well as reforms aimed at positioning the company as a fully commercial, profit-driven national oil company in line with the Petroleum Industry Act. On the human capital side, the GCEO said the company invested heavily in its workforce through the recruitment of young professionals and improved welfare packages, stressing that people remain NNPC’s greatest asset. Looking ahead, Ojulari said the company’s future success would depend on breaking down internal silos, strengthening trust among employees and partners, and fostering an enterprise-wide mindset. He described trust and teamwork as “non-negotiable foundations” for delivering value to Nigerians and stakeholders. As we move forward, our focus is on execution excellence, profitable growth and becoming a partner of choice,” he said, adding that NNPC’s strategy is firmly anchored on long-term sustainability, accountability and national energy security. The GCEO expressed confidence that with sustained collaboration and stakeholder support, NNPC Ltd would build on its 2025 gains to deliver even stronger results in 2026 and beyond.
