Amotekun Nabs 32 Suspects for Kidnapping, Theft in Ondo

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, recently apprehended 32 individuals suspected of various offenses, including kidnapping and robbery.

These arrests resulted from targeted operations across multiple local government areas to curb rising crime rates in the state.

During a press briefing at the Akure headquarters, Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye presented the suspects to the public. He explained that the arrests were part of a broader mission to clear criminal elements from both remote forest areas and urban centers.

Several of the detained individuals are believed to be connected to recent kidnapping incidents that have unsettled the community.

The corps utilized a mix of strategic intelligence and increased surveillance in high-risk zones to track down and capture these suspects.

In addition to kidnapping, the agency arrested several people for burglary and theft within local neighborhoods. Security officials reported that some suspects were found in possession of dangerous weapons and specialized equipment used for breaking into homes.

The agency stated that these successful arrests demonstrate the state government’s dedication to protecting its citizens. Officials warned that Ondo State would remain off-limits to criminals and that security forces would continue to aggressively pursue those breaking the law.

The 32 suspects are currently being interrogated, and legal proceedings will follow once investigations are finished. Residents are encouraged to stay alert and assist security agencies by sharing any information that could help maintain law and order.
