Army Repels Terrorist Attacks in Adamawa, Bornu

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled two coordinated terrorist attacks in Adamawa and Borno states.

The Nigerian Army demonstrated high levels of professionalism and superior combat capability, ensuring the safety of the region without losing any personnel or equipment during the primary engagements.

The first incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at a patrol base in Sabon Gari, located in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Alert soldiers, supported by a Quick Reaction Force from Gulak, engaged the attackers and forced them to retreat. Following the skirmish, the area was thoroughly scanned for improvised explosive devices to protect the local civilian population.

Later that same day, a more significant multi-directional assault targeted the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Azir in Borno State. The troops, assisted by Nigerian Army aerial platforms and air component support, engaged the terrorists in a fierce firefight that lasted over an hour.

The overwhelming firepower of the military eventually forced the insurgents to withdraw from the location.

While the army maintained control of the base, the terrorists managed to cause some damage to troop-carrying vehicles and a CCTV control room using rocket-propelled grenades.

Despite this, the military recovered a substantial cache of arms, including a 60mm mortar tube, mortar bombs, heavy machine gun rounds, and hundreds of NATO-standard ammunition rounds.

Following the initial repellant, the military used persistent intelligence and aerial surveillance to track the fleeing militants. These follow-up operations led to the neutralization of additional terrorists, significantly weakening their fighting capacity.

The Nigerian Army remains committed to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring total security across the North East.
