Dele Momodu Joins ADC Thursday
Veteran journalist, Dele Momodu will formally defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The event will be held at the party’s new secretariat in Benin City, Edo State.
As an ally of Atiku Abubakar, Momodu’s move aims to strengthen a broad opposition coalition. The goal is to create a unified front to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Momodu described the shift as a “homecoming” and a “rescue mission” for Nigeria’s democracy. He stated his decision is fueled by national interest rather than personal ambition for elective office.
Prominent leaders like John Oyegun are expected to attend the declaration. Momodu urged Nigerians across all political parties to unite against any threat of dictatorship and protect the nation’s democratic future.
