We Shares ‘Identical’ Views with Saudi Arabia on Yemen, Sudan, Says Egypt

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their aligned positions on major regional conflicts, specifically in Yemen and Sudan, during a period of significant regional instability.
Following talks in Cairo between Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, an official statement characterized their views on resolving these crises as “identical”.
The two nations emphasized that any peaceful solutions must maintain the “unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity” of states including Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip.
This display of unity comes amid a growing rift between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who were once close allies but have increasingly supported rival factions.
In Yemen, tensions rose recently after the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) seized two strategic provinces, prompting Saudi Arabia to call for an inclusive dialogue.
President el-Sisi expressed support for this Saudi-led initiative to bring southern Yemeni groups together for a political settlement.
Regarding Sudan, both Egypt and Saudi Arabia support the country’s de facto military leadership, while the UAE has faced accusations of backing the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The diplomatic competition between these powers has also reached the Horn of Africa, where Saudi Arabia has strengthened ties with Somalia’s federal government in contrast to the UAE’s close relations with Ethiopia and the breakaway region of Somaliland.
Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty echoed these sentiments by calling for immediate de-escalation and political solutions led by the respective nations involved.
