Troops Rescue Abducted Colonel in Plateau

Military personnel from Operation Safe Haven have successfully freed a high-ranking officer, Colonel P.Z. Wyom, following his capture by armed men in Plateau State.

The abduction took place at the Colonel’s home in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, prompting security forces to launch an immediate and large-scale rescue mission.

After receiving intelligence and tracking the movement of the kidnappers, the troops engaged the gang in a shootout, forcing the criminals to retreat and leave the officer behind.

The military has confirmed that the officer was recovered without any injuries and has returned to his family, while a manhunt continues for the suspects who escaped.

Security officials commended the rapid intervention of the soldiers and acknowledged the vital role played by local residents in providing the information necessary for the operation.

The event underscores the persistent security threats in Plateau State, where the military remains active in efforts to dismantle kidnapping and banditry networks.
