Nigeria Based Venezuela Solidify Group Condemns US Military Strikes

In a major diplomatic and security development, the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign in Nigeria has issued a strongly worded statement condemning the recent United States military strikes against Venezuela as a flagrant violation of international law and national sovereignty.

The group, a coalition of Nigerian labor and civil society organizations, characterized the overnight operation—which reportedly resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro—as an “imperialist assault” and “state-level terrorism.” They argued that the military action, justified by Washington as a counter-narcotics mission titled Operation Southern Spear, is instead a calculated move to seize control of Venezuela’s resources and punish its leadership for resisting foreign influence.

The Nigerian solidarity group expressed deep concern over the reports of civilian and military casualties following the strikes on key installations like the *Fuerte Tiuna military complex and La Carlota* airbase in Caracas. Leaders of the , including prominent activists from the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights and the Federation of Informal Workers of Nigeria , warned that such unilateral interventions only breed long-term regional instability.

They have called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to demand “proof of life” for the captured president and his wife, Cilia Flores, while urging the international community to reject the use of force as a tool for regime change.
