Peter Obi’s Former Ally Obaze Makes Political Comeback Joins ADC

Oseloka Obaze, former Secretary to the Anambra State Government under Peter Obi and one-time governorship candidate, has made a political comeback today by joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obaze formally registered as a member in Ogbaru Local Government Area, receiving membership card number 406.

He had previously stepped back from partisan politics after the 2018 Anambra governorship election to focus on consultancy work but recently supported the ADC candidate in the November 8, 2025, Anambra gubernatorial election.

In a statement, Obaze said he left politics on “grounds of principle” but is now committed to political engagement, emphasizing the need to “rethink and reunite Nigeria.”

His return to active politics coincides with preparations for the 2027 general elections, reflecting continued activity within the ADC party ahead of the election cycle.

Peter Obi, widely regarded as Obaze’s mentor, has maintained that he is part of the opposition coalition aligned with ADC but has not formally joined the party.
