Bandits Kill Three, Abduct Three in Fresh Kaduna Community Attack

At least three people have been killed and three others kidnapped after suspected bandits attacked Bundu Kahugu community in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack happened late on Monday night, December 29, 2025, leaving residents in shock and fear.
A community leader, Ishaya Dauda, said the attackers entered the village around 11 p.m. and began shooting wildly, forcing residents to flee for safety. During the attack, three people were shot dead on the spot while three others were taken away by the assailants.
The victims who lost their lives were identified as Felix Augustine, Luka Yakubu and Ezra Namata.
Dauda noted that this was the second deadly attack on the community in less than two weeks, recalling that four people were killed in a similar incident recently.
Residents have called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to urgently send soldiers and other security personnel to the area.
They also appealed to telecom companies to improve network coverage, saying poor communication makes it easier for attackers to strike and escape. Attempts to get a response from the Kaduna State Police were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting.
