Qatar Rejects Recognition of Somaliland by Israeli

The State of Qatar has officially declared its total rejection of the mutual recognition agreement between Israeli authorities and the Somaliland region.
Qatar views this move as a perilous precedent and a unilateral act that violates international law while directly threatening the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar emphasized its opposition to any efforts to establish parallel entities that might destabilize Somalia.
The Ministry reaffirmed its absolute support for Somalia’s legitimate government institutions and its steadfast commitment to the nation’s security, stability, and the welfare of its citizens.
Furthermore, the Ministry noted that Israeli authorities should prioritize the recognition of the State of Palestine and its right to independence on its own national soil as supported by the global community.
Qatar suggested that efforts should be focused on securing a permanent end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip rather than pursuing reckless policies that ignore international legitimacy and increase regional volatility.
Qatar concludes by reiterating its firm stance in favor of Somalia’s territorial unity and calling for universal respect for international law and established resolutions.
The Ministry also urged for unified global action to preserve the peace and security of the Horn of Africa.
