Iconic Nigerian Brand Mama Cass Returns, Reviving Legacy of Home-Cooked Meals and Traditional Flavours.

Iconic Nigerian food brand Mama Cass has announced its return to the country’s quick-service restaurant landscape, marking a new chapter for the company that has been associated with homestyle meals and traditional Nigerian dishes since its founding in 1983.

The brand, which began operations on Allen Avenue in Ikeja and grew into one of the most recognisable names in urban dining across Lagos and other cities, is re-emerging with a refreshed identity aimed at reconnecting with long-time customers while appealing to a new generation of diners.

According to the management, the comeback follows a period of restructuring and reinvention designed to strengthen operations and modernise the brand without losing its heritage appeal.

The relaunch introduces upgraded facilities, improved food production systems, and redesigned outlets, while retaining the signature offerings that made Mama Cass popular — including jollof rice, moi-moi, beans, pastries, snacks, and a variety of comfort-style Nigerian meals that many patrons associate with “home-cooked” flavour and nostalgia.

The company says the renewed focus is centred on quality, consistency, and a customer experience that blends tradition with contemporary service standards. It also emphasised that the revival pays tribute to the brand’s founding vision while positioning Mama Cass for sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive food service market.

With the relaunch, Mama Cass is seeking to reclaim its place in Nigeria’s culinary culture, celebrating more than four decades of presence in the dining and catering space and reaffirming its reputation as a household name built on familiar tastes, hospitality, and the enduring appeal of local cuisine.
