Arewa Community in Ogun State Donates ₦20 Million to Dapo Abiodun for 2027 Senatorial Bid

In a strong show of political support ahead of the 2027 elections, the Arewa Community in Ogun State on Friday donated ₦20 million to His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun to facilitate his purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination form for the Ogun East Senatorial District.

The donation was handed over to Governor Abiodun in a ceremony this afternoon, underscoring the community’s backing of his transition from the state governorship to the Senate. The gesture reflects growing grassroots support for Abiodun’s senatorial ambition and is seen as part of broader coalition-building within the APC in Ogun State, particularly in the key battleground of Ogun East. Leaders of the Arewa Community expressed confidence in Abiodun’s leadership, citing his developmental record and inclusive governance as reasons for their support. Notable groups, including the Arewa Business and Trade Association (ABTAOS) and the Arewa Community APC Group (ACAGO), were present at the event, signaling organized backing for his 2027 bid. Political analysts say such contributions and endorsements highlight the influence of community blocs in shaping the party’s primary contests and the general electoral landscape. Governor Abiodun, who is concluding his second term in 2027, has pledged a peaceful and orderly transition while emphasizing his achievements in infrastructure and economic development. The Arewa Community’s financial support marks a significant boost for Abiodun’s senatorial campaign and reflects the growing importance of cross-regional alliances in Ogun State politics as the 2027 elections approach.
