Tinubu’s Economic Reforms Showing Early Gains, Says Ondo RHA Coordinator
The Director-General and Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Victor Olabimtan, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approach to economic management reflects a clear understanding of the challenges facing the country and the capacity to address them.
Olabimtan, who also chairs the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), noted that the administration inherited an economy burdened by deficits, with many tiers of government struggling to meet basic obligations such as salary payments.
According to him, recent developments indicate that the situation is gradually improving under the current leadership.
In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly pointed to progress in key areas such as infrastructure, youth-focused initiatives and broader economic reforms, arguing that the Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to deliver tangible outcomes.
He highlighted ongoing infrastructure expansion across the country, citing hundreds of road projects, including major highway developments linking Lagos to Calabar, parts of which pass through Ondo State.
Olabimtan also said renewed investor interest in Nigeria has contributed to improved performance in the capital market and supported efforts to diversify the economy, particularly through increased attention to solid minerals.
On social and not administrative reforms, he referenced the federal government’s education loan scheme, which he said has widened access to higher education, as well as improvements in passport processing timelines.
He added that fuel distribution has stabilised and suggested that the easing of supply pressures is contributing to a gradual reduction in living costs, including food prices.
Olabimtan urged Nigerians, especially voters in Ondo State, to support President Tinubu as the administration continues its reform agenda, while also commending Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what he described as steady leadership in the state.
He further disclosed that coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at local government, ward and unit levels in Ondo State would soon be inaugurated.
Clarifying the role of the group, Olabimtan said the RHA is not designed as a campaign platform but as an information-driven initiative focused on public education.
According to him, the RHA operates nationwide with the aim of informing citizens about federal government reforms, programmes and opportunities embedded in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The initiative, he added, also supports party outreach by strengthening engagement between the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and grassroots structures, ensuring consistent communication and improved interaction between elected officials and their constituents.
