President Tinubu Embarks on Three-State Visit, to Spend End-of-Year Holiday in Lagos
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has embarked on a three-state tour covering Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos States, ahead of the end-of-year holiday season.
The journey, which began on Saturday, combines official duties with personal engagements, culminating in the President spending the festive period in Lagos.
The tour commenced with a visit to Borno State, where President Tinubu is scheduled to commission key infrastructure projects developed through partnerships between the federal government and the state administration.
These projects are aimed at enhancing socio-economic development and improving the welfare of residents, particularly in sectors impacted by past security challenges.
From Borno, the President proceeded to Bauchi State. During this leg of the trip, he will pay a condolence visit to the Bauchi State Government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a revered Islamic cleric whose passing earlier this month drew nationwide attention.
The visit is expected to reinforce national solidarity and the federal government’s support for affected communities.
The final stop of the tour is Lagos State, where President Tinubu plans to spend the end-of-year holiday with family and participate in cultural and traditional festivities.
Among the highlights of his Lagos itinerary is the Eyo Festival, scheduled for December 27, a major cultural event celebrating Lagos heritage and honouring notable figures, including the President’s late mother and former leaders of the state.
Officials say the three-state tour reflects a careful balance between governance, community engagement, and personal celebration. It underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to fulfilling official duties while also participating in national cultural traditions and marking the festive season with the citizens.
Observers note that the President’s holiday presence in Lagos, the nation’s commercial hub, is consistent with past practice, combining personal leisure with high-profile appearances that strengthen federal visibility and local engagement ahead of the new year.
The President’s itinerary emphasizes continuity in development projects, engagement with local communities, and active participation in cultural heritage, demonstrating a blend of leadership and personal observance as 2025 draws to a close.
