Bandits Storm Kogi ECWA Church, Abduct Worshippers, Residents

Suspected bandits have attacked a branch of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kogi State, abducting several worshippers and residents during the assault.

The attack occurred at the ECWA church in Aààaz-Kiri community, located in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of the state.

Local sources said the gunmen stormed the area and targeted the church, causing panic among residents before whisking away their victims to an unknown location.

Although the exact number of abducted persons has yet to be officially confirmed, community members said both worshippers and residents were taken during the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Kogi State Police Command regarding the attack.

Efforts to reach security agencies for comments were unsuccessful.

The incident adds to growing concerns over rising insecurity in parts of Kogi State, where communities have repeatedly reported attacks on civilians and places of worship.
