RCCG Goodnews Mega Assembly Honours AAUA First-Class Graduates With Cash Awards
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Goodnews Mega Assembly in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, has recognised two exceptional scholars from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, presenting each with ₦50,000 for their outstanding academic achievements.
The honourees, Akinleye Oreoluwa, who finished with a 4.65 CGPA, and Akpan Sunday, who earned a 4.51 CGPA, are both graduates of the university’s Department of the Business Administration and active members of the church’s Young Adults and Youth Affairs (YAYA), Ondo Province 7.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Pastor-in-Charge and Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of the province, Pastor Olatunde Oladimeji, praised the duo for their commitment to academic excellence, noting that their achievements reflect discipline and determination.
Oladimeji reaffirmed the church’s dedication to promoting excellence among young people, saying the RCCG “remains committed to celebrating achievements that inspire young people to pursue distinction in their fields.”
According to him, the assembly has, over the years, consistently honoured its first-class graduates with cash rewards, maintaining a tradition of encouraging excellence within the church community.
Also speaking, the Provincial Youth President of YAYA and lecturer at AAUA, Ogunade Oluwakayode, applauded the gesture, describing it as a deliberate effort by the church to nurture and motivate young talent.
He added that recognising academic achievers not only encourages the beneficiaries but also sets a positive example for other youths within the church and the wider society.
