President Tinubu Felicitates Akpabio on Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio as he marks his 63rd birthday, describing him as “a patriot and a dedicated servant of the people” whose service to Nigeria has been marked by commitment to national development and public welfare.

In a statement released on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, President Tinubu praised Akpabio’s extensive public service record, highlighting his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, his leadership as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and his current role as President of the 10th National Assembly.

The president commended Akpabio’s contributions to infrastructural development, policy advancement, and the strengthening of executive-legislative relations.

“Senator Akpabio’s leadership has left an indelible mark through transformative initiatives and service to the nation,” Tinubu said.

He further prayed for the Senate President’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength, wishing him many happy returns as he celebrates another year of life.

Observers note that this salute is part of a long-standing tradition of mutual recognition between the president and Akpabio. Previous birthday messages from Tinubu have acknowledged Akpabio’s leadership qualities and political achievements, particularly his transformative governance in Akwa Ibom State.

Political analysts see the public congratulation as more than a personal gesture; it underscores the ongoing collaboration between the executive branch and the leadership of the Senate under Akpabio, highlighting their alignment on key national policies and legislative priorities.

The president’s message has drawn praise from citizens and political stakeholders alike, who view it as recognition of Akpabio’s enduring influence in Nigerian politics and his role in shaping the country’s legislative and developmental agenda.
