AGF Fagbemi Undergoes Asset Verification, Says He Is “Leading by Example”

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, on Monday completed a routine verification of his Asset Declaration Form at the headquarters of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in Abuja, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Speaking after the exercise, Mr Fagbemi said his appearance before the Bureau was a demonstration of leadership by example, noting that every public official must be willing to subject themselves to the law.

“This is part of the anti-corruption crusade and one of the measures to ensure transparency and integrity in public service,” he stated.

He explained that the process was a routine verification of the assets he declared upon assuming office, in line with constitutional requirements.

The AGF commended the CCB for its role in promoting ethical conduct in government and urged other public officials to comply fully with asset declaration regulations.

According to him, the Buhari administration’s anti-corruption agenda remains a priority, and public trust can only be strengthened when leaders are open to scrutiny.

The CCB also described the exercise as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with asset declaration laws across all levels of government.
