APC Chairman Declares Party Poised for Convincing Victory in 2027 Presidential Election
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed strong confidence that the ruling party will secure a decisive victory in the 2027 presidential election.
He made the declaration in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a coalition of women’s political groups who pledged support for the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Yilwatda said the APC remains the most organised and widely accepted political platform in the country, insisting that its performance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strengthened its chances going into 2027.
According to him, ongoing reforms and government policies have continued to win public support, particularly among women and young people, whom he described as “critical pillars” of the party’s voter base.
He praised the women’s coalition for their grassroots mobilisation efforts, urging them to intensify engagement within their communities. Yilwatda noted that women constitute a significant percentage of the electorate and play a crucial role in shaping political outcomes.
The APC chairman also addressed concerns about the party’s internal cohesion, saying preparations for the 2027 elections are in full swing.
He confirmed that recent postponements in the party’s National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings were aimed at ensuring broader consultation and stronger unity ahead of the election year.
Yilwatda’s remarks come amid growing political activity across the country, as both the ruling party and opposition parties begin early positioning for what many observers expect to be a fiercely contested presidential race.
While the APC projects confidence, opposition blocs argue that public dissatisfaction with economic conditions could reshape political dynamics before 2027.
Despite this, the APC chairman maintained that the party is focused on delivering governance promises and believes its performance will translate into voter confidence.
He assured party supporters that the APC would approach 2027 more prepared, more united, and “certain of victory.”
