CAC Warns Nigerians Against Fake Companies, Lists Unregistered Firms

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has warned Nigerians, urging individuals and businesses to exercise caution when dealing with companies claiming to be registered with the Commission.

In a public advisory released on Tuesday, the CAC revealed that several entities circulating purported registration numbers are not listed in its official database and may be engaging in fraudulent activities Among the companies flagged are Famas Services Nigeria Limited, Promo Dutch Investment Limited, Dialack Concept Nigeria Limited, Purpleheart Construction and Real Estate Management Company Limited, M/S Loktu Enterprises, Loktu Enterprises, Badatoyak Limited, Johson Nats Limited, Peoples Club Nigeria International, Jiba Enterprise, Civil Engineering Solutions Nigeria Limited, Gabdoff Hotel Limited, Amoka Group, BEEC Nigeria Limited, and S. S. Adetunji. These firms were identified as presenting fake certificates of incorporation or unverifiable registration numbers, misleading unsuspecting members of the public The CAC emphasized that possession of a physical certificate or claimed registration number does not guarantee a company’s legitimacy. It advised the public to always verify company details through the CAC Public Search Portal before engaging in any business transactions. Failure to do so, the Commission warned, could expose individuals and investors to scams, financial loss, and identity fraud. This advisory forms part of the CAC’s ongoing effort to sanitize Nigeria’s corporate environment and protect the integrity of its business registry. The Commission urged the public to report suspicious companies or counterfeit documents and to rely solely on official CAC sources, including its website and verified social media accounts, for updates and verification procedures.
