Daniel Bwala: In the Coming Days, Nigeria Will Know the Sponsors of Terrorists
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has said the Federal Government will soon make public the identities of individuals and networks financing terrorism in Nigeria.
Speaking during an interview on Television Continental (TVC) on Sunday, Bwala disclosed that the government is currently taking “far-reaching decisions” aimed at exposing and dismantling the financial structures that support extremist groups across the country.
According to him, Nigerians will soon begin to see clear evidence of the administration’s intensified counter-terrorism efforts.
“In the coming days, the country will know who the sponsors and financiers of terrorism are,” Bwala said. “The government is taking decisive steps, and the results will soon be noticeable.”
The presidential aide noted that terrorism has evolved into a global challenge, stressing that Nigeria’s security concerns require international partnership and intelligence-sharing.
“Terrorism is no longer a local issue,” he said. “The demand is now on world governments to cooperate with Nigeria in identifying and disrupting the networks that fund and sustain terrorist activities.”
Bwala’s comments come amid heightened expectations for transparency following recent federal actions aimed at tracking financial flows linked to terrorist organisations and criminal groups.
Security analysts say publicly naming financiers could represent a significant shift in Nigeria’s counter-terrorism strategy, potentially strengthening ongoing military and intelligence operations.
The Federal Government is yet to provide a specific date for the release of the names, but Bwala’s remarks suggest that an official announcement may be imminent.
