Ondo Amotekun Begins 5th Recruitment Phase, Sets Criteria for Applicants

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has commenced its fifth round of recruitment as part of renewed efforts to bolster security operations across the state.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by Muyideen Fabunmi, who spoke on behalf of the Corps Commander. According to the statement, the recruitment window will run from Monday, December 1, 2025, through Monday, December 8, 2025.

Fabunmi noted that the latest recruitment drive, approved by the state government, aims to fortify the security outfit with capable personnel to enhance the protection of lives and property amid rising security concerns.

To be eligible, applicants must be natives of Ondo State or persons of Yoruba origin who have resided in the state for a minimum of 10 years. They are expected to present a Local Government of Origin certificate, evidence of payment of development levy for at least three years, and either a National Identity Card or a valid voter’s card.

The Corps further stated that candidates must possess relevant paramilitary experience or security-related skills. Acceptable competencies include traditional hunting, mechanical or automotive engineering, construction-related trades, electrical or electronics work, plumbing, welding, painting, tailoring, or ICT abilities such as web design and graphics design.

Individuals with trade test certifications in driving or works supervision are also eligible. The Corps noted that “spiritual endowment” would be considered an additional advantage.

Applicants must be no younger than 20 years old and are required to submit proof of physical and mental fitness signed by a government-owned medical facility. In addition, they must present a character endorsement from a Notary Public, a Local Government Traditional Council chairman, or a Justice of the Peace.

The statement also emphasizes that candidates must have lived in their current community for at least three years, with a confirmation letter from their Community Development Association (CDA) to validate residency.

The Corps urged qualified individuals to apply promptly as part of its mission to enhance grassroots security across the state.
