Security Heightened in Oyo After Wanted Militia Leader is Sighted in Saki

The Oyo State Government has raised an urgent security advisory after intelligence reports suggested that a notorious militia figure, known as “Boyi Actor,” was recently spotted in Saki, a border community in the Oke-Ogun region.

The alert, contained in an internal security memo dated November 23, 2025, was issued by CP Odukoya Sunday Babatunde (Rtd.), who serves as the Executive Assistant on Security to Governor Seyi Makinde.

The warning followed information relayed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command.

According to the memo, the wanted suspect—who is reportedly on security watchlists in Ogun State and several other parts of the country—was seen travelling in a black vehicle with tinted windows, though details of the car remain unclear.

His presence in the area has prompted fears that he may be making arrangements for the movement of his associates from Niger, Kwara, and Kaduna States, suggesting a possible coordinated entry into Oyo.

In response, Babatunde instructed the NSCDC and other security agencies to intensify surveillance across all borders, insisting on immediate tightening of security measures at major entry and exit routes.

The directive highlighted the need for comprehensive protection of strategic locations, including the Governor’s Office, Government House, ministries, schools at all levels, religious centres, financial institutions, public parks, transportation hubs, and security establishments.

The memo further urged security personnel to increase their visibility statewide, conduct more stop-and-search operations, and step up vehicular patrols to forestall any potential threats.

The state government has not yet provided additional public comments, but security formations have reportedly begun implementing the outlined measures.
