UNIJOS Hails NELFUND for Funding them With ₦622.78m Student Loan Support

The University of Jos has formally commended the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for what it described as remarkable efficiency and impact in the administration of the student loan scheme.

 

In a letter dated November 24, 2025, addressed to the Managing Director/Chief Executive of NELFUND at its Abuja headquarters, the institution praised the Fund’s leadership for the “giant strides in reshaping the educational system” within a short period of operation.

 

According to the university, the timely disbursement of ₦622,780,000 on November 6, 2025, for the 2024/2025 academic session has greatly supported its students.

 

The amount represents the approved loan for 4,450 students of the institution.

 

UNIJOS noted that the operational efficiency demonstrated by NELFUND signals renewed hope for Nigeria’s education sector and strengthens confidence in the sustainability of the initiative.

 

The institution also expressed its willingness to maintain a cordial working relationship with NELFUND as the programme continues to unfold.
