Lagos APC Alleges ‘Insider Sabotage’ Behind Rising Terror Attacks Nationwide

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress has alleged that elements within Nigeria’s security institutions are aiding recent terror operations, claiming that coordinated attacks appear to benefit from internal leaks and deliberate compromises.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the precision of recent incidents suggested that hostile actors inside the system were undermining national security efforts in partnership with external forces.

Oladejo said Nigeria faced a decisive moment “not because we are weak, but because enemies of the state, saboteurs in high places, and foreign instigators believe they can manipulate the destiny of a sovereign nation of 230 million people”.

He added: “There is no magic or mystery when terrorists successfully launch attacks despite our advanced intelligence capabilities and iron-proof security alerts.

This is nothing short of internal sabotage. It is the clear evidence of supposed protectors working hand-in-glove with aggressors.”

According to him, the accuracy with which recent attacks were carried out pointed to operational leaks. “Only insiders can compromise operations so precisely. Only traitors leak movement details so accurately.

Only saboteurs deliberately open gaps that enemies exploit. This is not incompetence – it is collaboration,” he said.

Oladejo alleged repeated patterns of compromise, including weakened checkpoints at critical moments, attacks on soft targets, and spikes in violence following external provocations.

He also accused unnamed political figures of reinforcing extremist narratives and lowering public morale.

Despite the alleged infiltration, Oladejo said President Bola Tinubu was maintaining a firm stance against terrorism. “Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the war on terror is no longer a polite engagement; it is a ruthless, intelligence-driven, uncompromising pursuit of terrorists and their collaborators,” he said.

He commended the military for its efforts, while warning those he described as internal saboteurs. “Your game is up. Your betrayal is noted. Your network will be exposed. Your sponsors – local or foreign – will be disgraced,” he said.

Oladejo assured Nigerians that the country would overcome its current security pressures.

“Nigeria will not collapse to fulfil the fantasies of failed politicians, desperate saboteurs, or foreign actors playing imperial games. Victory is certain. Nigeria shall prevail.”

Security authorities had not issued a response to the allegations at the time of filing this report. The Lagos APC did not provide evidence to support its claims of internal sabotage or foreign collaboration.

The statement comes amid a series of violent incidents, including the church attack in Kwara and recent school abductions in Kebbi and Niger, developments that have prompted several states to impose partial or temporary school closures.
