Two Suspected Kidnappers Arrested in Iseyin After Confessing in Viral Video
A trending online video has surfaced showing two suspected Fulani herdsmen being apprehended for alleged involvement in a kidnapping operation in Iseyin, Oyo State.
The suspects, identified in the footage as Umar Abubakar (25) and Umar Bello Usman (32), were reportedly intercepted by the Nigerian Forest Security Service, Iseyin Command, while allegedly attempting to carry out another abduction in the area.
In the video, the two men confessed to coming from Niger State and relocating to the Southwest, claiming they had lived among Yoruba residents long enough to understand and speak the Yoruba language fluently.
They admitted to engaging in previous kidnapping operations and alleged that they had collected approximately ₦2.4 million from earlier in operations.
The suspects also claimed that their most recent attempt—which led to their arrest—involved an operation to abduct an elderly man.
According to their confession, a relative of the victim, identified as the “child of the Alhaji,” allegedly provided them with information that made the attempted kidnapping possible.
Security operatives in Iseyin were said to have apprehended the suspects during the operation before it could be completed.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but the viral video continues to circulate widely on social media, drawing public reactions and renewed concerns over security in Oyo State and neighboring regions.
