Morocco to Waive E-Visa Fees for Supporters Ahead of AFCON 2025
In a move aimed at simplifying travel and boosting stadium attendance, the Local Organising Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have confirmed that electronic visas for supporters travelling to Morocco for the tournament will be provided at no cost.
The measure — made available through the official YALLA application — is intended to streamline entry formalities for fans and facilitate access to match venues across the kingdom.
The waiver covers e-visa processing fees for eligible visitors applying specifically to attend the continental championship, which kicks off in Morocco later this year.
Supporters will also be required to obtain a Fan ID, a separate accreditation that grants stadium access and is likewise issued via the YALLA platform. Officials said combining the Fan ID and visa processes on a single digital channel should cut queues and reduce paperwork for travelling fans.
Tournament organisers emphasised that the initiative was coordinated with Moroccan immigration authorities to ensure that the exemption is implemented securely and efficiently.
The LOC says the arrangement is part of a broader push to make the competition more accessible to followers from across Africa and beyond — particularly given the high demand for tickets seen during recent sales phases.
Organisers have also stepped up communications to explain eligibility criteria and the application steps through YALLA’s app and website.
Reaction among supporter groups and national associations has been largely positive, with many welcome the reduction in travel costs and the convenience of a single online portal. Travel agents and fan coordinators have urged would-be visitors to begin the application process promptly, noting that while the e-visa fee is waived, applicants must still meet standard entry requirements and supply the necessary documentation when requested.
The AFCON is scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, across multiple Moroccan cities and venues. With organizers reporting strong global interest and rapid ticket uptake during earlier sales windows, the free e-visa arrangement is expected to remove one barrier for fans travelling to the event — but authorities warn that late applications or incomplete Fan ID dossiers could still delay or prevent travel.
Supporters are advised to apply through the official YALLA channels and follow updates from CAF and the LOC to avoid disappointment.
