Seyi Tinubu Parleys Sheikh Gumi, Advocates Unity, Dialogue for Peaceful Nigeria

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently paid a courtesy visit to renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, in Kaduna — a meeting that has drawn national attention for its tone of peace, dialogue, and mutual respect.

The visit, which formed part of Seyi Tinubu’s ongoing Ramadan outreach in northern Nigeria, reportedly centred on fostering unity, promoting understanding across religious and regional lines, and strengthening efforts toward a more peaceful and progressive nation.

During the engagement, both men were said to have shared thoughts on the need for continuous dialogue among Nigerians, regardless of ethnic or religious differences, as a means of ensuring stability and national cohesion.

The discussion also touched on collective progress, mutual tolerance, and the role of influential figures in promoting peace across communities.

Sheikh Gumi, who is widely regarded as an influential Islamic scholar and peace advocate, received Seyi Tinubu warmly and commended the gesture as a sign of respect and national responsibility.

He emphasized that open communication between leaders and citizens remains crucial in addressing Nigeria’s social and security challenges.

Seyi Tinubu’s visit to the cleric came amid his series of engagements with key northern leaders during the holy month of Ramadan. Observers have described the meeting as a symbolic step towards building bridges of understanding between different regions and faith groups in Nigeria.

While details of the private discussion were not fully disclosed, the meeting has been largely interpreted as a reflection of goodwill, dialogue, and the pursuit of collective harmony — values considered vital to the country’s unity and development.
