Kano Police Recover Stolen Government House Vehicle, Apprehend Driver
The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle assigned to the Governor’s Advance Team, which was reported missing from the Government House fleet on Tuesday.
Following the report of the theft, the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, ordered the immediate closure of all entry and exit points of the state and directed a focused, intelligence-led investigation.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed in a statement that the sustained operation led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of the vehicle in the Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki Quarters of Kano.
The individual arrested in connection with the theft is a 50-year-old driver in the Government House fleet named Ya’u Inuwa. The suspect reportedly confessed to conspiring with two other individuals who are currently at large.
The recovered Toyota Hilux is now in police custody, and CSP Kiyawa stated that the investigation is ongoing to apprehend all perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.
