The Ondo State Government has signalled a firm stance on accountability in the state’s health sector, warning non‑performing health workers that continued poor performance could lead to replacement.

The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by the state to strengthen healthcare delivery and address critical staff shortages.

According to a statement from the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA), the government has directed directors of primary healthcare facilities to ensure that their teams meet established performance standards.

The statement emphasised that health workers failing to comply with operational directives and maintain efficiency could face removal and replacement by new recruits.

The move is part of a broader strategy by the state to revitalise its healthcare system, particularly primary healthcare centres, and to fill gaps left by staff departures.
