Oyo State Distributes Free Tickets for Davido’s “5ive” Concert in Ibadan
The Oyo State Government announced today that it will distribute thousands of free tickets to young residents wishing to attend Davido’s “5ive” concert, scheduled for Sunday, Nov 9, 2025, at Liberty Stadium.
The initiative, approved by Governor Seyi Makinde, is part of the state’s push to empower youth, boost tourism and strengthen the creative‑entertainment sector.
Distribution begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov 8, at the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, located within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Ibadan.
Tickets are allocated strictly on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Residents must present a Local Government ID, Voter’s Card, or National Identification Number (NIN) to confirm eligibility.
The Ibadan show marks the penultimate stop on Davido’s Nigerian leg of the 5ive Tour, which kicked off in Uyo on Oct 26, moved to Yola on Oct 29, and continued in Enugu on Nov 1. The final Nigerian stop will be in Lagos on Dec 25. Davido expressed excitement about performing for his home crowd following his North American tour, calling the Nigerian edition “special.”
Governor Makinde emphasized that the free‑ticket program aligns with his administration’s vision to make Oyo a cultural hub and to drive economic benefits for local businesses during the event. The concert is expected to draw over 20,000 fans, making it one of the year’s largest entertainment gatherings in the region.
The state government has heightened security measures around the stadium and urged attendees to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.
