ABC Transport Posts N926.8m Profit in Nine Months

ABC Transport Plc has reported a remarkable financial turnaround for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, posting a pre-tax profit of ₦926.8 million, compared to ₦1.3 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.

The company’s unaudited financial statement, filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), showed a significant increase in revenue to ₦11.92 billion, representing a 48 percent growth from ₦8.05 billion in the same period last year. The impressive performance was driven by stronger income across its business segments, including passenger transport, haulage, cargo logistics, hospitality, and the sale of spare parts According to the report, ABC Transport’s gross profit rose to ₦2.54 billion from ₦1.63 billion, reflecting improved operational efficiency despite an increase in direct costs to ₦9.38 billion. The company also recorded a 37 percent rise in other operating income to ₦424.8 million, largely from franchise and related business earnings. After tax deductions, profit after tax stood at ₦585.7 million, marking a sharp rise from ₦126.4 million achieved in the previous year. Earnings per share also jumped to 24 kobo, up from 5 kobo in 2024, signifying stronger returns to shareholders. The company’s balance sheet showed sustained growth in assets, with total assets reaching approximately ₦14 billion as of September 30, 2025. Non-current assets, particularly property, plant, and equipment, accounted for over ₦10 billion, reflecting ABC Transport’s continued investment in fleet expansion and infrastructure upgrades. ABC Transport also posted a net operating cash inflow of ₦3.96 billion, compared to ₦1.30 billion last year, while net investment outflow totaled about ₦3.2 billion, primarily due to capital expenditure on vehicles and logistics facilities. Management of the company said the performance underscored ABC Transport’s recovery trajectory and resilience amid Nigeria’s challenging transport and logistics environment. The firm noted that its diversified operations and strategic cost management had positioned it for sustained profitability in the coming quarters. The group has assessed its ability to continue as a going concern and remains confident that it has the resources to sustain operations in the foreseeable future,” the company said in its statement. Analysts say the company’s strong revenue and asset growth signal renewed investor confidence in the transport sector, though they cautioned that rising fuel costs and inflationary pressures could affect margins in subsequent quarters. ABC Transport, one of Nigeria’s leading road transport and logistics firms, operates passenger services, haulage and cargo logistics, as well as hospitality services through its City Transit Inn subsidiary.
