General Oluyede Vows Stronger Push for Peace, Rallies Nigerians to Back Armed Forces

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on citizens to continue supporting the Armed Forces in their ongoing efforts to protect the nation’s unity, peace, and territorial integrity.

In a statement released from Defence Headquarters, General Oluyede emphasized that the Nigerian military remains steadfast in its constitutional responsibility to defend the country against all forms of internal and external threats.

He appreciated Nigerians for their resilience and cooperation despite current security challenges, urging them not to lose faith in the nation’s armed forces.

“Our troops are sacrificing daily to keep Nigeria safe. We urge citizens to sustain their trust, share credible intelligence, and continue to pray for the success of our operations. Nigeria will overcome its challenges. Working together, we will secure every inch of our land and ensure lasting peace,” Oluyede said.

The CDS also reaffirmed the military’s commitment to professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights, noting that ongoing joint operations across the country are yielding positive results.

General Oluyede assured that under his leadership, the Armed Forces will intensify efforts to eliminate terrorism, banditry, oil theft, and other criminal activities threatening national stability.

The Defence Chief’s message comes amid renewed military operations in the North-East and North-West, as well as sustained maritime security patrols in the Gulf of Guinea.
