Shun Quick Wealth, Build Prosperity Through Hard Work, Enterprise, Soludo Counsels Ndi Anambra
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has called on the people of the state to shun the lure of what he described as “magical money” and focus instead on building a culture of enterprise, innovation, and hard work as the foundation for lasting prosperity.
Speaking during a public engagement in Awka, the governor cautioned against the growing dependence on quick wealth schemes and political handouts that promise instant riches without productive effort. He emphasised that sustainable development can only be achieved through honest labour, creativity, and disciplined economic participation by citizens. Soludo urged youths to take advantage of the state government’s empowerment initiatives, such as the “One Youth, Two Skills” programme, which is designed to equip young people with technical and entrepreneurial skills. He noted that his administration’s focus on education, skill acquisition, and industrial development would open new opportunities for self-reliance and job creation. The governor reiterated that Anambra’s future depends on its people embracing diligence, integrity, and innovation rather than waiting for free money or external saviours. According to him, the culture of hard work that historically defined Ndi Anambra must be revived and strengthened to maintain the state’s reputation as a hub of entrepreneurship and commerce in Nigeria. He also appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community organisations to help promote values that encourage productivity, honesty, and collective progress. Soludo maintained that true wealth comes from enterprise and value creation, not shortcuts or manipulation. The governor’s message, coming amid rising political activity and economic debates in the state, underscores his administration’s push for a shift from dependency-driven politics to a results-oriented economy powered by skills and innovation. He concluded by urging citizens to support leaders and policies that prioritise economic empowerment, transparent governance, and long-term development, saying, “Anambra must reject magical money and embrace hard work — that is the only way to build a prosperous future for all.”
