CUPP Hails Tinubu, Umahi for Road Projects, Urges Sustained Commitment
The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has applauded President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for what it described as the remarkable progress being recorded in road infrastructure development across Nigeria.
The coalition, in a statement titled “Road Infrastructure: CUPP Commends President Tinubu, Calls for Consistency”, and signed by its National Spokesperson, Mark Adebayo, on Saturday in Abuja, said the commendation was based on the findings of an independent inspection of ongoing federal road projects.
According to the statement, members of the CUPP Steering Committee recently embarked on a nationwide tour to assess the level of work done on key projects, including the Abuja–Lokoja–Benin highway, among others. The group said the inspection revealed tangible progress and quality work being executed under the current administration.
Adebayo stated that the coalition was impressed by the visible transformation along major federal roads, noting that the pace of work and the level of supervision demonstrated the government’s seriousness in addressing the country’s long-standing infrastructure deficit.
“The CUPP commends President Bola Tinubu for prioritising critical infrastructure and the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for his hands-on leadership and technical oversight that have brought renewed momentum to federal road projects nationwide,” the statement read in part.
While urging the Federal Government not to relent, the coalition called for sustained funding, transparent contract execution, and strict quality assurance to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timelines and meet global standards.
The CUPP further encouraged state governments to complement federal efforts by investing in rural and intercity roads to boost connectivity, trade, and socio-economic development across the country.
It reiterated its commitment to continue monitoring national projects and offering constructive feedback to ensure accountability and value for taxpayers’ money.
