Lagos Police Arrest 3 Inspectors for Brutally Assaulting Man into Coma
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three police inspectors accused of brutally assaulting a 22-year-old man, Jacob Sunday, leaving him in a coma.
The shocking incident reportedly occurred at the 22 PMF Barracks in Ogudu on Tuesday evening.
The officers arrested are identified as:
* Inspector John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu
* Inspector Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja
* Inspector Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja
According to reports, the inspectors allegedly lured Jacob Sunday, who is said to be the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, into their room around 6 p.m. before subjecting him to severe torture. The motive for the assault was the accusation that the young man was having an affair with the wife of a fellow officer, ASP Audu Richard, identified as Sarah Richard, who also resides within the barracks.
Sources indicated that the victim was stripped naked and beaten mercilessly until he became unconscious.
Jacob Sunday was eventually rescued by a team of detectives and immediately rushed to the Police College Cottage Hospital, Ikeja, where he is currently in the emergency unit receiving medical care.
The three accused inspectors have since been arrested and placed in detention. Police authorities in Lagos confirmed the arrests and assured the public that a thorough disciplinary and criminal investigation is underway, promising that justice will be served upon its completion.
