Prioritise Discipline, Integrity, Jigawa Police Commissioner Tells New Recruits

The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, CP Dahiru Muhammad, has charged 272 newly passed-out police constables to uphold the values of discipline, integrity, and professionalism as they commence their careers in the Nigeria Police Force.

CP Dahiru gave the charge while addressing the new officers at the Police Headquarters in Dutse, the state capital. His remarks were contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Shi’isu Adam.

The commissioner commended the constables for successfully completing their rigorous training and urged them to translate the knowledge and skills they had acquired into effective service delivery. He described their passing-out as the beginning of a lifetime commitment to protecting lives and property, enforcing the law, and maintaining public order.

“Your journey in the Force officially begins today. You must remember that discipline and integrity are the cornerstones of effective policing. Nigerians expect you to serve with honesty, courage, and fairness,” Dahiru was quoted as saying.

He also reminded the recruits that the police profession demands sacrifice and dedication, urging them to resist any form of corruption or misconduct that could tarnish the image of the Force.

While congratulating the new officers, the commissioner assured them of the command’s continuous support and guidance as they integrate into their various units and formations across the state.

SP Adam further reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring a more professional and people-friendly police service, emphasizing that the addition of the new officers would help strengthen security operations and improve community policing in Jigawa State.
